The Magpul Back-Up Sight (MBUS) is a folding back-up sight made from impact-resistant polymer, providing a lightweight and durable option for shooters. This low-cost sight is adjustable for elevation and is compatible with most 1913 Picatinny-railed hand guards. Designed and produced in the USA, the MBUS Front Sight features a spring-loaded flip-up mechanism that can be easily activated from either side or by pressing the top.
With detent and spring pressure, this sight stays erect while allowing for unobstructed folding under impact. It can be clamped onto most MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny/STANAG 4694 railed hand guards, maintaining the same height-over-bore as standard A2 irons. Protective wings are included to shield the spring-locking A2 front sight post. An elevation adjustment tool is provided, but aftermarket A2 front sight adjustment tools can also be used.
It is important to note that the MBUS cannot be mounted on a railed gas block due to excess heat issues. The front MBUS must be mounted on a railed forend on the same plane as the receiver rail. As a result, this sight is not compatible with MOE Hand Guards. This innovative back-up sight offers convenience, versatility, and reliability for shooters looking for a high-quality option at an affordable price.
